Virtual Production CoLab was an immersive series of workshops that saw teams of Manitoba filmmakers get their first hands-on experience with new technologies such as Unreal Engine and 3D-tracked LED walls at StudioLab xR. Under the mentorship of our partners from Vancouver, Fish Flight Entertainment we worked hard to provide the most comprehensive virtual production training program possible. From mocap to previz to final production, the teams dove head first into this learning opportunity.
I was involved behind the scenes, operating Unreal Engine and troubleshooting issues during production. My role included ensuring the technology ran smoothly and supporting the technical team.
Written and directed by Brad Crawford, 2141 is a short film that combines aliens, time travel, and complicated relationships into a unique and entertaining story. With its imaginative concept and creative execution, it offers a fresh take on sci-fi adventure.
Space Kiss was directed by Lowell Dean (Wolfcop) with Cinematography by Vince Tang. It features everything you need from a science fiction film, an interspecies love story, a lack of oxygen and a doomed spacecraft. Lowell embraced the learning experience and brought his dark humor and love of genre to the process.
Written and directed by Danielle Sturk (El Toro) with Cinematography by Gabriel Levesque. The story centers on a woman who is attempting to escape her nemesis in a chase through time and space but gets caught up in her magnetic web in a dance of attraction.
